Flushing and Passivation Chemicals
Flushing, which literally means washing with plenty of water, is used in construction and mechanical applications—particularly for the initial cleaning of closed-loop systems. The purpose of this application is to prevent blockages caused by iron oxides, welding residues, sludge, cement, oil, and grease that may form during the installation of closed-circuit systems (heating and cooling lines).
These unwanted residues in the closed-loop system can lead to decreased heat transfer and increased consumption of fuel, electricity, and labor. They can only be removed from the surfaces they adhere to and discharged effectively by circulating appropriate chemical agents at the right concentration and for sufficient durations within the system.
