Travel Related Legionnaires’ Disease is a disease which causes serious problems especially in tourism sector today. A communication network was established for this disease in European countries including Turkey. Legionella bacteria settles in the lungs of patients and causes Legionnaires’ Disease which grows quickly and results in death in 15-20% of the patients.

Natural environments of Legionella bacteria are rivers, lakes, thermal waters, thermal muds and spring waters. This type of bacteria which is present in low number in natural environments, reproduces rapidly when it finds suitable places and conditions in water systems of buildings.

In order for the Legionella infections to occur, an environmental source which will reproduce the bacteria and intermediate mechanisms which will transmit the bacteria to special population and a special population are required.
